Well it looks like the start of my blog has worked according to Cathus so thanks for letting me know.  The thing is I really don’t know that a blog of mine would be of interest to anyone and I haven’t worked out how to do links yet, there are only 24 hours in a day, lol.    Anyway, if anyone’s interested on Saturday 9th August I paid a visit to the de Havilland Heritage Aircraft Museum at South Mimms, it’s just off the roundabout at London Colney.  Shame on me, all the years I’ve lived just around the corner from it and I’ve not been before.

The opening times are strange i.e., Saturday it doesn’t open until 2pm by which time on the day I chose to go it was peeing down with rain.  Anyway, very pleasant surprise, lots of old aircraft in various hangars and also a few around the outside.  There’s also a restoration workshop which is also accessable.  The staff are very friendly and informative and are quite willing to let people go over barriers to photograph the aircraft.  The lighting inside the hangar I found to be a complete nightmare, challenging to say the least.  In the ceiling there are square skylights and the hangar door was open.  The skylights made orange blobs appear on quite a few of the aircraft depending on their location.   I’ll try and upload a couple of pics when I have a minute but I intend to go back for a re-shoot in the near future.  Entrance fee is only £5 so it’s well worth it.

My friend Cathus, well I hope he doesn’t mind me calling him that - friend I mean!, has suggested more people start blogging and has very kindly supplied all the necessary gear to enable us to do just that.  Let’s hope it’s blondeproof!  I’m really not that computer literate when it comes to making websites and blogs so this will be a first for me.  Well it’s a start, whether I can upload an image/images is another matter.  I have an awful habit of skipping through instructions briefly but seem to like pressing different buttons on my computer hoping I hit the correct one!  Having said that, I hasten too add that I do not use the same method when using my trusty Nikon!  I am now going to attempt to add my first image!  Ummm now where were those instructions?

So,  ok let’s see if this has worked.

Hope someone can tell me if all this has worked?  Thanks in advance
